CAMDEN — Lynn Anne Bibeau, 50, died at her home March 28, 2013, from complications of chronic health issues.

Born in Washington, D.C., Nov. 9, 1962, she was the daughter of Lionel R. Bibeau and Carolyn Richards Bibeau. After moving to Maine, she lived a brief time with her grandparents in Rockport before moving to Camden with her mother, where she has since resided. Lynn attended Camden schools and was a graduate of Camden-Rockport High School. She later graduated from the University of Maine and then earned a Master of Education from the University of Connecticut.

Teaching was in her blood from early on. family and friends were always playing "school" with Lynn, and she insisted on being the teacher. Her first love of teaching children was expressed while Lynn taught preschool in Connecticut. For a brief period in the 1980s, she lived in Flagstaff, Ariz., where she worked as an accountant.

After returning to her Camden home, she worked at Knox County Head Start, and for several years at Maine Department of Health and Human Services in Rockland. During tax season each year, she also worked with Jackson Hewett Tax Services as a tax preparation specialist. Even though she no longer worked as a teacher, Lynn continued to tutor several local students.

Lynn enjoyed scrapbooking, stamping, various crafts and reading romance novels. Since her birth, she was a member of John Street United Methodist Church and was a member and officer of United Methodist Women, and also taught Sunday school. Lynn had a tendancy to joke and make people laugh, even during her choir practice and while mentoring the youth group at John Street.

She cherished friendships she made at her work and was particularly grateful for the friendship of her co-worker, Karen Thompson, and of fellow scrabooker Cynthia Barlow.

Pre-deceased by her parents, Lynn is survived by her aunt, Doris Marshall of Connecticut; her cousins, James Marshall and family, David Marshall and family, and Kristin Marshall; her nephew Chris Bibeau; her niece Jennifer Cheetham; a brother; and several additional cousins, including Kimberlee Graffam and family of Rockport, Edward Graffam and family of Rockport, Janice Graffam of Rockport, and Sharon Danforth of Camden.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Rockland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mildred Graffam Memorial Scholarship, c/o Kim Graffam, P. O. Box 340, Rockport, ME 04856.
