Lyndall J. Mink, obituary

Lyndall J. Mink, 83, formerly of Appleton, died December 25, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Portland. Lyndall was born November 30, 1933 in Appleton to Ivan and Irene (Johnson) Mink, one of five children. She grew up and attended schools in Appleton and Union. She assisted on the family farm while she was growing up.

She worked in several places throughout her life including GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro, Tibbetts Industries in Camden, Stinson Canning Company in Rockland, Camden Nursing Home,and as a nannie for a local family. She enjoyed riding her motorcycles, loved animals, nature, and had a great sense of humor. She also enjoyed country music, dancing and hockey. She was an active volunteer at St. Luke’s Church in Portland.

She was predeceased by her parents; a sisters, Constance Mink and Natalie Gushee and by a brother, Keith Mink.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Wade, of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; son, Lawrence “Larry” Wade, of Rockport; brother, Lyndon “Lenny” Mink and his wife, Marion, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; grandson, Alex Winslow, of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate Lyndall’s life will be held at the West Rockport Cemetery in the spring of 2017. Contributions in Lyndall’s memory may be made to P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center, P.O. Box 707,Rockport, ME 04856.
