Rockland - Louis Stephen Alex, 75, died Jan. 5, 2017, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Waterville. He was born Jan. 15, 1941, in Rockland, the youngest child of Albanian immigrants, Stephan (Stephen) and Constantina Mahil Luarasi Alex.

Louis grew up on Orange Street in Rockland. He was a graduate of Rockland District High School. He enjoyed aviation, Civil War history, and listening to the music of Hank Williams Sr.

In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by his sister.

He is survived by his four children, Deborah Stebbins, Steve, Andrea Benson and Marcia Moniz; as well as four grandsons; three granddaughters; three brothers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A springtime burial will be held at Achorn Cemetery in Rockland.
