Lobster bake in Rockland to benefit Friendship sloop ‘Blackjack’ restoration

    ROCKLAND — The Sail, Power and Steam Museum will host a Maine lobster bake by the shore, open to the public, on Friday, July 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. Proceeds from the dinner will go into the fund the restore the historic Friendship sloop Blackjack, which is underway at the museum and can be viewed during the event.

    Friendship sloops will be arriving and racing in Rockland Harbor July 22, with a parade of sail past the museum planned. The menu includes lobster, mussels and corn cooked on the beach, plus potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon and desert. Tables are under a big tent and there will be blue grass band entertainment.

    Dinner is $40 per plate with all proceeds going to the fund. Advance tickets by July 20 required to reserve a lobster.
