VINALHAVEN — Linda Rae Philbrook, 59, a life-long resident of Vinalhaven, passed away on April 1, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and close friends at her home. Born in Vinalhaven on June 27, 1956, she was the daughter of Harry Edward and Addie Annette (Martin) Philbrook. Linda was a graduate of Vinalhaven High School.

For many years, Linda worked at the Vinalhaven Post Office as the custodian. She attended church at both Pleasant River Chapel and the Union Church with her mother, Annette, her best friend and caregiver.

Linda's hobbies included sewing, needlework and all types of crafts. Through her creative talents, she made Christmas ornaments and angels to donate or give to family and friends. The family trip to Prince Edward Island was a very special memory for Linda.

Predeceased by her father, Harry E. Philbrook; and an infant brother, Lyford Philbrook; she is survived by her mother, Annette Philbrook; her brother, Carl Philbrook and his wife, Joan, all of Vinalhaven; her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Bernardi and her husband, Anthony, and their children, and Tony Lembo, all of Rockland.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Union Church in Vinalhaven, with the Rev. John Potter, Robert Candage and Burke Lynch co-officiating.
