Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Three arrests

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 339 calls between May 22 and May 29, and year to date, LCSO has responded to 5,981 calls for service.

Summonses

Gerald V. Flanagan, 61, of Alna was issued a summons May 24 for Failure to Register a Vehicle, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy David Bellows.

James B. Houghton, 44, of Waldoboro was issued a summons May 27 for Operating While License Suspended or Revoked, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

Michael Smetana, 28, of Chardon, Ohio was issued a summons May 27 for Operating Vehicle without a License, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

Arrests

Henry W. Moorhouse, 72, of Newcastle was arrested May 22 for Operating Under the Influence, on Jones Woods Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Chase Bosse.

Charles W. Keller, 50, of Nobleboro was arrested May 23 for Violating Condition of Release, on Upper East Pond Road, Nobleboro, by Detective Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

Seumas B. Fletcher, 51, of Bristol was arrested May 25 on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Criminal Use of Explosives, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Accidents

On May 23, an accident occurred on Main Street in Nobleboro involving Colleen M. Nichols, 39, of Nobleboro. Ms. Nichols was preparing to back her 2002 Subaru Forester out of a driveway when she was distracted by a hornet and tried to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle was in reverse gear and rolled out of the driveway, across Main Street, through a lawn and into the southbound ditch of Bayview Road. Ms. Nichols was partially dragged down the driveway, before freeing herself. The driver side of her vehicle impacted the ditch and embankment on Bayview Road. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On May 25, an accident occurred on U.S. Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Bruce M. Cummings, 60, of South Bristol. Mr. Cummings was operating his 2017 Ford F350 northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On May 25, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Shane P. O’Brien, 27, of Hermon. Mr. O’Brien was operating his 2004 Honda Civic southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On May 25, an accident occurred on Patricktown Road in Somerville involving Ali Ramadhan, 24, of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Ramadhan was operating his 2003 Kawasaki EX250 motorcycle eastbound when due to Ramadhan being unfamiliar with the area, his motorcycle went off the roadway rounding a corner and into a ditch. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On May 29, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Floyd T. Lawrence, 61, of Warren. Mr. Lawrence was operating his 2014 Subaru Legacy northbound when a deer struck the front of his vehicle. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On May 29, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Mark A. Creamer, 54, of Whitefield. Mr. Creamer was operating his 2010 Dodge 1500 northbound when a deer jumped out from the side of the road and collided with the center passenger side of his vehicle, causing minor damage. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
