Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Oh ‘deer’ – six involved in accidents

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 218 calls between Feb. 14 and Feb. 20, and year to date, LCSO has responded to 2,572 calls.

Summonses

On Feb. 15, Davis Crowell, 27, of Waldoboro was issued a summons for Violating Condition of Release, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read.

On Feb. 17, Charles F. Jewitt, 66, of Nobleboro was issued summonses for Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug and Violating Condition of Release, on West Neck Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Arrests

On Feb. 14, Charles M. Gates, 36, of Bath was arrested on an Androscoggin County warrant for a bail violation, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Scott Hayden.

On Feb. 19, Joshua W. Bonenfant, 38, of Bristol was arrested for Violating Condition of Release, on Clarks Cove Road, South Bristol, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

On Feb. 20, Daniel T. Kelly, 61, of Woolwich was arrested for Operating Under the Influence – 1 prior and Operating after Suspension, on Bradford Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Kevin Dennison, who was assisted by Detective Jared Mitkus.

Accidents

On Feb. 15, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Richard A. Harding, 63, of New Harbor. Mr. Harding was operating his 2006 Toyota Tacoma westbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy road surface. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its passenger side, then back onto its wheels. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 15, an accident occurred on Barters Island Road in Boothbay involving Kristie A. Morton, 29, of Trevett and Eric C. Tibbetts, 28, of Edgecomb. Ms. Morton was pulling her 2002 Dodge Durango into a parking lot off of Barters Island Road, when her vehicle slid on the icy parking lot and struck Mr. Tibbetts’ 2013 Jeep Compass, which was parked, on the driver’s side. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 16, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in Bristol involving Heather Lynne M. Benner, 19, of Nobleboro. Ms. Benner was operating her 2013 Dodge Dart northbound when a deer ran into her vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 17, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Jefferson involving Morgan A. Gallione, 21, of Newcastle. Mr. Gallione was operating his 2015 GMC Acadia eastbound when a deer ran into the left front side of his vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 18, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Tyler L. Regan, 22, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Mr. Regan was operating his 2000 Toyota Camry southbound when he came to a stop sign and started to slide in the snow. As a result, he was unable to stop and slid through the stop sign and across the road, where his vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 18, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Glenn E. Gervais, 47, of Jefferson. Mr. Gervais was operating his 2013 Hyundai Elantra northbound when a deer ran out and struck his vehicle. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 18, an accident occurred on Vigue Road in Whitefield involving Ethan H. Furlong, 17, of China. Mr. Furlong was operating his 2010 Ford Fusion northbound when a deer ran in front of his vehicle and was struck. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 19, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Cindy R. Hagar, 58, of Nobleboro. Ms. Hagar was operating her 2007 Chevrolet Suburban northbound when a deer jumped out and struck the front of her vehicle. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 19, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Damariscotta involving Andrea L. Hall, 46, of South Bristol. Ms. Hall was operating her 2013 Acura RDX northbound when a deer crossed the road and was struck, damaging the front driver’s side corner. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
