Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: More weather-related accidents

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 173 calls between Feb. 7 and Feb. 13, and year to date, LCSO has responded to 2354 calls.

Summonses

On Feb. 9, Melanie L. Allen, 43, of Jefferson was issued a summons for Operate while License Suspended or Revoked – Prior, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Detective Scott Hayden.

On Feb. 10, Jeremiah E. Lucas, 20, of Boothbay was issued a summons for Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation, on East Side Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

Arrests

On Feb. 6, Jason L. Fogg, 27, Warren was arrested for Violating Condition of Release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Feb. 6, Michael E. Holbrook, 46, of Boothbay was arrested for Violating Condition of Release, on Western Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

On Feb. 7, Jason L. Fogg, 27, of Warren was arrested for Violating Condition of Release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Feb. 10, Marissa A. Peters, 23, of Boothbay was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on Lewis Lane, Boothbay, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore, who was assisted by Detective Jared Mitkus.

Accidents

On Feb. 6, an accident occurred on Access Road in Boothbay involving Billy R. Monteiro, 32, of East Boothbay. Mr. Monteiro was operating his 2006 Chevrolet 1500 southbound when he came to a corner, and due to icy road conditions, his vehicle continued straight, left the roadway, before hitting a tree with the passenger side. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 7, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Matthew J. Norian, 39, of Bristol. Mr. Norian was operating his 2005 Subaru Forester southbound when he observed several deer enter the roadway from the southbound ditch and struck one of them. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 7, an accident occurred on Orchard Way on Southport Island involving Jason S. Bray, 39, of Augusta. Mr. Bray was operating his 2008 Ford F250 northbound when he drove onto a large patch of ice, slid off the road and struck a house. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 7, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Eric N. Worthing, 34, of Newcastle. Mr. Worthing had pulled his 2016 Mazda CX-5 into the Dodge Point parking lot and due to ice underneath the newly fallen snow, his vehicle slid into a metal post. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 7, an accident occurred on McKown Street in Boothbay Harbor involving Christopher Leeman, 53, of Boothbay and Nicholas A. Lessner, 35, of Boothbay. Mr. Leeman was coming down McKown Street plowing in his 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and Mr. Lessner had just exited from a private driveway in his 2015 Ford F350 and was stopped in the roadway. Due to extremely icy road conditions, Leeman started to skid and the left rear bed side struck Lessner’s vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 10, an accident occurred on East Side Road in Boothbay involving Jeremiah E. Lucas, 20, of Boothbay. Mr. Lucas was operating his 2011 Toyota Prius southbound when he began to slide going down a hill. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway on the left side and struck a tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 10, an accident occurred on Back Narrows Road in Boothbay involving Corey W. King, 31, of Boothbay. Mr. King was operating his 2008 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound and due to extremely icy/slushy road conditions, he lost control of his vehicle and struck two mailboxes. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 11, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Tyler G. Cheney, 21, of Bristol. Mr. Cheney was operating his 2005 Dodge 1500 westbound when he stated he fell asleep. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway on the right side and struck a tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 11, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Nancy H. Giesberger, 72, of Round Pond and Arnold Gamage, 65, of South Bristol. Mr. Gamage had stopped his 2016 Dodge Ram waiting to merge southbound onto Route 1. Gamage had started to slowly merge when suddenly Ms. Giesberger struck his vehicle from behind with her 2011 Subaru Forester. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 11, an accident occurred on Hunts Meadow Road in Whitefield involving Justine N. Stinson-Finlay, 26, of Whitefield. Ms. Stinson-Finlay was operating her 2005 Ford Explorer northbound when due to icy road conditions, she entered the southbound lane and rolled into the southbound ditch. Deputy Scott Peterson was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 12, an accident occurred on Townline Road in Boothbay involving William K. Burge, 50, of Boothbay and Amber J. Zottoli, 22, of Danville, Virginia. Mr. Burge was backing his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado out of a private driveway onto Townline Road when he failed to see Ms. Zottoli’s 2008 Pontiac G6 parked on Townline Road and backed into the front end of her vehicle. Lt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 12, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Robert L. Campbell, 32, of Trevett. Mr. Campbell was operating his 2002 Ford F-250 northbound when his vehicle caught on fire. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
