Letter to the Editor: Thanks from the Owls Head Fire Department

The Owls Head Fire Department would like to thank the many people, and businesses, who made our recent Baked Potato Bar fundraising supper a success. The supper was organized by the Friends of the Owls Head Fire Department to raise money for a new thermal imaging camera.

First, many thanks to Beth Long and her crew for putting the entire event together. Thanks also to Kerry Altiero and Cafe Miranda for their generous donations and cheerful support. Native Maine Produce donated the potatoes and vegetables, without which there would not have been a supper at all. Thanks also to Walmart, Seasons Downeast, Penobscot Air, Long's Landscaping, Shaws, Hannaford, Jake Barbour, Heather Ross and Angelica Ross. Special thanks also to Miranda Sternberg, whose stunning cheesecakes made the after-supper raffle a real hit!

The Baked Potato Bar raised more than $2,900 toward the $4,600 purchase price of the thermal imaging camera. Our thanks to all those involved!
