Letter to the editor: Tired of a contentious library conversation? Vote for Eliza Haselton and Sarah Shepherd

Thu, 06/04/2015 - 12:00pm

Eliza Haselton and Sarah Shepherd are the best candidates to change the tenor of Rockport’s conversation about our library, and I urge Rockport voters to elect them to the Library Committee on June 9. Both candidates bring thoughtful perspectives and open minds to the vitally important discussion of our library’s future.

While some candidates have already made up their minds about that future and have pledged not to change them, Eliza Haselton and Sarah Shepherd are refreshingly open-minded. They’ve stepped forward to listen and to carefully consider all information, from surveys and listening tours to reports from independent consultants, and they will bring new energy to our library conversation.

Vote for Eliza Haselton and Sarah Shepherd for Rockport Library Committee. They will lead Rockport toward consensus.
