Letter to the editor: Teen and Young Parent program gives thanks

Tue, 04/15/2014 - 12:45pm

The Teen and Young Parent Program is pleased to announce that the fundraising event, Two Great Bands, One Great Night, was a stunning success and would like to thank everyone who had a hand in helping.

This event would not have been possible without the beautiful space donated by the Rockland Elks Lodge #1008 and the musical talents of local bands Creatures of Habit and Just Teachers. The dance floor was packed as both bands rocked the house. Among the contributions, we would like to thank Joelle Albury, Lowe's, The Brown Bag, Luke's Seafood, Swing & Sway, Shaw's, Hannaford, KDK and Judith Zizza.

Thank you to Village Soup, Bangor Daily News, Penobscot Bay Pilot, Lincoln County News, WCSH6.com and The Free Press for including our event in your calendars and publishing our press releases. You played an instrumental role in getting the word out.

A very special thank-you to the following businesses that sponsored a table: Sidecountry Sports, Jensen's Pharmacy, Dave's Detail, Fresh Off The Farm, ElectricityME, Duncklee & Nott, Midcoast Federal Credit Union, Cates Real Estate, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, and Crandall, Hanscom & Collins.

The Teen and Young Parent Program is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been in the community since 1989 with a mission to support young parents and their children through the involvement of caring volunteers, mentors and home visiting parent education. For more information, call 594-1980.
