We learned about Kathleen Meil's candidacy first hand back in May when she knocked on our door, introduced herself, explained what she stood for, and asked for our vote in the upcoming Democratic primary for Joan Welsh's District 94 seat in the Maine House of Representatives.  

We were invited to Kathleen's Campaign Kickoff last Saturday at the Rockport Harbor park and to bring a side dish to share.  What we found was an inclusive and happy picnic with kids playing and swimming, and many neighbors having a good time - sharing lunch, talking with each other, and discussing how best to advance Maine to a brighter future.

This was what local politics should be, and Kathleen is the type of positive politician who can lead us there.  When Kathleen or one of her team knocks on your door, we suggest you get to know her. You will be impressed. We are.

Kathleen has great credentials: she is an active community leader, engaged mother, and hard-working businesswoman.  She is both knowledgeable about our community and a listener/ consensus builder.  Her priorities include healthy communities, strong schools, lower-cost energy efficiency that grows local skilled jobs, and environmental sustainability - essential for fisherman, farmer, and all of us.
