Letter to the editor: Say you want hopes and dreams back

Thu, 02/11/2016 - 2:15pm

To all of the folks that have been affected by the prejudicial rhetoric in the political arena, I am sorry. We have seen response to the rhetoric from the Boston attack in last couple of weeks. To give a more local example, the governor's office is not accepting laws and rights around the equality of the LGBT community. It's time to say yes to equality.

We need to reflect on history, when the conservative radicalization of the WASP caused dismay and conflict within our communities. It's time to convey our concerns to the GOP leaders that we are done with the messages of gripe and the threats of prejudice.

They need to know that we are ready to role model the great values in which we stand or fall together. No matter what creed, religion, or sexual orientation, our communities are more important than hating our neighbors.

We need to say no on waging hate on our neighbors, communities and loved ones. Wall Street's "fat cats" know that if they split us, we will fail at our dreams and we will fail at growth. We are losing jobs and we need to put stop to the GOP ,Capitol Hill , and Wall Street. We need to stand up and say, "No!" We need our communities back.

We need to bring back dreams, hope and growth. We need to stop talking about blame and hate. We need to join our local parties and say no to the rhetoric. Say you want hopes and dreams back in our communities. Now, do you feel the Bern?
