The Maine Celtic Celebration is brought to you by a small group of dedicated volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors and organizing committee for the event. Now in its ninth year, the Celebration has grown from a series of small concerts scattered around Belfast to the largest summer event in the city, attended by thousands of local folks and summer visitors. It takes all year and a significant commitment of time, energy and money to produce the Celebration.

Looking toward our 10th year and beyond, the MCC Board of Directors is hoping to expand. Until now, there has basically been one person responsible for each key area of the Celebration: fundraising, music coordination, infrastructure, publicity, vendors, children's area, volunteer coordination, merchandise sales, etc. Other volunteers have pitched in on an irregular basis. At this point, we would like to expand the regular committee to include a second person (an "apprentice") for each key position. In this way, we hope to ensure the long-term continuity of the event.

So, if YOU are a Maine Celtic Celebration devotee and have some time and energy to spare, please step forward and volunteer to join us. No special expertise is required, we have all learned by doing and are ready to pass on that knowledge. We are also eager to hear new ideas for how to make the Celebration even better.
