Letter to the editor: Kathleen Meil will be a strong voice

Mon, 09/26/2016 - 7:45pm

For too long, there's been a "versation" going on in Augusta. Our elected state government has forgotten the value of good old fashioned "conversation," instead choosing to shout at each other and stubbornly stick to political talking points. The only way to stop the madness is to vote for legislators who will listen, develop real solutions, and yes, actually get something done.

We're writing to endorse Kathleen Meil and to urge you to vote for her to represent Islesboro, Camden, Rockport and all the citizens of our district in the Maine House of Representatives. Over the past several months, we've come to know Kathleen as more than a name on a lawn sign. She is bright, articulate and concerned. She has common sense and an ability to forge consensus and solve problems. These are the qualities we need to see more of in our state legislators. Kathleen is a positive person who will fight against the negativity we're all fed up with in our politics.

We are particularly impressed with the interest and concern she has demonstrated for our island community. Kathleen will be a strong voice for us as well as our entire district in the Legislature.

Stop the senseless shouting. Join us in voting for Kathleen Meil on November 8.
