Letter to the editor: Jefferson needs to support the school

Thu, 05/21/2015 - 10:45am

I would like to address the community of Jefferson...We needed to support the school. In this letter, I'm not going to rattle off statistics on educational matters. As the cost of living goes up so do the dues of education. The facts are that children learn by hands on experimental education more so than sitting in a lecture. Specials like art, gym and music are critical for students to develop social, emotional intelligences, social aware and problem solving skills. There are so many more benefits but these are just a few. Second concern, is special education. One of the main focuses of these programs is to meet the children where they are at and support them. This alone is an art form. This art form takes time and patience. As a community we need to support our teachers,ed techs and school personnel. As a proud staff; we are doing our best to support the community and the students.

Please vote for the budget on June 2,. Doing so you are voting for the students’ growth and bright future.
