Letter to the editor: I‘m no sissy but that was a scary Rockport parking experience

Talk about parking and traffic around the Rockport Public Library: I had an interesting experience Wednesday afternoon around 5 p.m. parking for the library open house.

I was coming from Camden so I parked on Union Street going downhill toward the Opera House. There is no crosswalk there. I tried to cross several times but with wet leaves on the pavement and cars whizzing around the blind corner on Central Street I gave up. So I got back in the car and drove around to enter Limerock Street from Russell Avenue.

I never know whether I should cut inside the island or go around it. I drove up Limerock Street, turned around in someone's driveway and parked going downhill.

Coming out there is no other way to get back onto Central Street to go south then to cross against the grain taking a chance there is no car coming uphill to go around the blind corner.

I am no sissy but I must that was a scary experience.
