Letter to the editor: Get out the vote, watch the Camden candidates’ stream online
Tomorrow, June 9, is Election Day and I'm one of the candidates for Camden Select Board.
This is not a "vote for me" letter – it's a "get out the vote letter."
I've spoken to a number of people - even today – that didn't realize tomorrow is Election Day.
There are five people running for the two seats up for election on the Camden Select Board tomorrow.
Last Thursday there was a candidate forum hosted by Pen Bay Pilot and it can be seen here:
• Recorded live: Camden Candidates Forum, Who is running for Select Board, and why
The forum started after a couple minutes of announcements.
This was the first candidate forum since 2007. It's an important time for our town.
The five of us running for election (or re-election), Anita Brosius-Scott, John French, Leonard Lookner, Marc Ratner (me) and Sally Russillo (I've listed us alphabetically), were asked questions on a whole host of topics that are important to Camden and its residents and there followed a great evening of conversation.
If you have some time and we all know how hard that is to fine these days – watch the two-hour forum.
Be involved in our wonderful town.
That's the reason all five of us are running for the position – we all want to contribute.
Please join us tomorrow at the ballot box.
Marc Ratner lives in Camden.
P.S. If you'd like to learn more about me – I've written extensively on a Facebook page I posted exclusively for this election: www.facebook.com/marcratnercamden
