On Monday, May 23,  special guests on the Chris Wolf Show will be Kari Cameron and Sally Leighton from the Rockport Dance Conservatory.  They’ll be talking about their ninth annual Spring Showcase, The Rockport Dance Conservatory, and dance in general. The show will be streamed live at 8:00 a.m. on the Maine Coast TV ROKU Channel, from MaineCoast.tv/streaming and also live and streaming on WRFR, as well as Time Warner Cable in Knox County and Belfast.

The Spring Showcase will be Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28, at the Camden Opera House at 6:30 p.m. The show is sponsored by Midcoast Recreation Center in West Rockport.

Act 1 of the Spring Showcase will feature choreography students have been working on all year including some of their award winning competition pieces. RDC continues to have a themed second act and this year will feature “Alice’s Quest for Queen, a steampunk interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s story Alice Through the Looking Glass. Rockport Dance Conservatory is known for its blending of dance styles mixed all together in choreography to give stories greater depth and character. Characters will be brought to life with custom costumes and props designed by RDC director Kari Cameron, whose work has been featured in Dance Spirit Magazine.

Rockport Dance Conservatory’s foremost mission is to quality-train students in many different dance styles thus encouraging versatility in performance opportunities, whether dance competitions, community collaborations, or dance reviews. They strive to inspire students both physically and mentally, and to equip students with proper dance knowledge, skill, and confidence while they discover the joy dance has to offer. RDC also works on raising the ‘barre’ in local performances by producing exciting, high-quality choreography that audiences love to watch.
