BELFAST — Leroy Merlon Gibbs, 64, of Belfast, passed away on July 5, 2016, at Tall Pines.

He was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Belfast, the son of Merlon E. Gibbs and Gloria (Lavway) Cross. Leroy graduated from Mt. View High School, Class of 1971.

He worked for the Department of Transportation for the State of Maine, as well as at Sullivan's for many years.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Meldon Gibbs; his step-father, Ed Cross; and his niece, Kristy Gibbs.

Leroy is survived by a companion, Audrey Sweetland of Fairfield; his children, Kimberly Clark and her husband, Eric, of Holden, Aaron Gibbs and his wife, Chastity, of Unity, and Corinne Gibbs of Waterville; his siblings, Ricky Gibbs of Bangor, Deborah Burns and her husband, Dan, of Pennsylvania, and Marilyn Carman and her husband, Norman Gilmore, of Brooks; and his grandchildren, Kelli and Chelsey Gibbs.

Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to noon at Riposta Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at noon.
