OWLS HEAD — LeRoy T. Bennett, 97, died peacefully May 18, 2015, at his home, with his loving family at his side.

Born May 3, 1918, he was the son of Angus and Elsie Thornes Bennett.

LeRoy was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Roberta F. Bennett; his son, Dennis B. Bennett; and his brother, Donald Bennett.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Hitchen of Lady Lake, Fla.; his daughters, Alice J. Bennett of South Pasadena, Calif., and Roberta L. Gay and a much loved son-in-law, William G. Gay, of Owls Head.

LeRoy was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a 61-year member of New York State Mineola Masonic Lodge #985, serving proudly as master of the Lodge in 1986 and as grand representative of the Grand Lodge of Alberta, Canada.

LeRoy's family would like to thank Dr. Cheryl Liechty, who was his wonderful and caring physician for 10 years, as well as the staff of the Sussman House and Kno-Wal-Lin for their compassion.\

Burial will be held at a later date in Albertson, Long Island, N.Y.
