NORTHPORT — Leon Charles Barton, 66, of Northport, passed away April 16, 2016. Born Jan. 24, 1950, to Leon and Beatrice (Seekins) Barton, Leon grew up on a dairy farm before serving in the U.S. Army.

He belonged to the Maine Antique Tractor Organization and also assisted at auctions with the skills of an auctioneer. Leon loved to hunt, fish and tell stories. He was a very caring and thoughtful man, always generous to those in his life.

Leon was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Mary J. (Rumney) Barton. He leaves behind his stepmother, Judith Barton; his sisters, Leone Harriman and her husband, Fred, of Northport, and Fern Dell Barton of Bayside (Northport); his brother, Frederick W. Barton of Farmington; his halfsisters, Cheryl McCauley and her husband, Sam, of Swanville, and Vicki Knowlton of Northport; five grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his special friend, Betty Kenniston; and his four-legged friends, Snoopy and Romeo.
