WASHINGTON and WALDOBORO — Larissa J. Bilodeau, 84, died peacefully on June 8, 2016, at the Sussman House in Rockport.

Born in Bangor on June 15, 1931, she was one of six children born to Ellis and Henrietta Foss Springer. Larissa grew up in Franklin and attended school there.

Following high school, Larissa married the love of her life, Emery A. Bilodeau, on March 28, 1949, in Ellsworth. Larissa and Emery spent the early years of their marriage following his job, moving to different logging camps along the way. As her eldest daughter began school, the family settled in Washington, a place she has called home ever since.

For many years Larissa dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a private caregiver and housekeeper for several local families. Larissa's final and favorite employment was with Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro. She took great pleasure in helping the residents there, and formed many lasting friendships along the way.

She was an accomplished writer, penning many wonderful short stories, several of which were considered for publication. Even when not writing stories, she kept daily journals of her thoughts and life around her.

Throughout her life, Larissa has overcome many obstacles, however her beautiful smile and sweet disposition has accompanied her along the way. She has always had a deep, strong faith and been very active in the Catholic church.
