Knox County Sheriff’s beat: OUI, burglary, arrest warrant

    The Knox County Sheriff's office received 296 calls for service from January 1-7. Some of the calls responded to included agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, court paper service, crash reconstructions, crisis interventions, death investigations, drug evaluations, finger printing, forensic mapping, nuisances complaints, motor vehicle crashes, police information, police K-9 tracks, school visits, sex offender registrations, shellfishing compliance, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

    Jan 1

    Following a check for warrants in Rockland, Deputy Paul Pinkham arrested Joseph Thurston, 29, of Friendship, on an arrest warrant.

    Following a traffic stop in South Thomaston, Pinkham summoned Robert Batty, 24, of Owls Head, for possession of marijuana.

    Following a traffic stop in Union, Deputy Nathaniel Jack summoned Daren Ripley, 51, of Appleton, for speeding.

    Jack responded to a report of criminal mischief in Appleton. The incident is under investigation.

    Jack responded to a reported burglary in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

    Jan 3

    Detective Dwight Burtis received information about domestic violence in Warren. The incident is under investigation.

    Deputy John Hansen responded to a report of theft in Warren. The incident is under investigation.

    Following a traffic stop in Rockport, Jack summoned Melissa Legare, 31, of Saint George, for speeding.

    Following a traffic crash in Hope, Jack summoned Rayven Green, 24, of Belmont, for operator not secured in seatbelt.

    Deputy Robert Potter responded to a report of theft on Vinalhaven. The incident is under investigation.

    Following a traffic crash in St. George, Deputy Alicia Gordon summoned Colin Hatfield, 28, of St. George, for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

    Following a traffic stop in Hope, Pinkham summoned Benjamin Breda, 31, of Hope, for operating an uninspected motor vehicle.

    Following a traffic stop in Warren, Pinkham summoned Marshall Bolster, 70, of Lincolnville, for speeding.

    Deputy Potter responded to a report of criminal mischief on Vinalhaven. The incident is under investigation.

    Jan 6

    Following a traffic stop in Union, Deputy Paul Spear summoned Edwin Ingraham, 43, of Union, for operating with a suspended registration.

    Jan 7

    Following a traffic crash in Hope, Spear arrested Adam Feener, 21, of Hope for operating under the influence of alcohol.

    Pinkham responded to a report of criminal mischief in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

    Following a traffic stop in St. George, Deputy Arthur Smith summoned Matthew Wasgatt, 47, of Rockland, for operating an uninspected motor vehicle.

    Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Deputy Scott Redmun summoned Laurie Hutchinson, 52, of Cushing, for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

    Following a traffic crash in Friendship, Deputy Jeremy Joslyn arrested Joshua Neubig, 24, of Friendship, for operating under the influence of alcohol.
