Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence terrorizing, cultivation of marijuana

    The Knox County Sheriff's office received 244 calls for service from April 19-25. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

    April 19

    Deputy Arthur Smith responded to a report of an adult female making threats of harming herself in Warren. The female subject was transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center for an evaluation.

    Deputy Jeremy Joslyn conducted a radar detail in Friendship. No violations were noted.

    April 20

    Following a traffic stop in Washington, Deputy Nathaniel Jack issued a summons for operating unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance.

    April 21

    Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

    Following a traffic stop in St. George, Jack issued a summons for expired inspection.

    Following a traffic stop in Warren, Smith issued a summons for expired registration.

    Deputy Paul Spear conducted a radar detail in Friendship. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Robert Potter began an investigation of theft on Vinalhaven. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

    Deputies Pat Polky, Spear and Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a disorderly male in Warren. The male was located and transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center for an evaluation.

    Polky responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

    Spear responded to a report of a suspicious female in the town of Cushing. Following this response, Melody Waldron, 51, of Cushing, was arrested on a probation violation.Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    April 22

    Joslyn conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

    Following a traffic stop in Warren, Spear issued a summons for speed.

    April 23

    Joslyn and Mitchell responded to a report of a disorderly male in Warren. The male was issued a warning for same.

    Following a traffic stop in the town of Cushing, Deputy Paul Pinkham issued a summons for speed.

    Potter conducted a radar detail on Vinalhaven. No violations were noted.

    Jack and Deputy John Lash responded to a request for a well-being check in the town of Union. The male in question was located and all set, although he and his wife were issued summonses for cultivation of marijuana.

    Deputy Potter and Hansen responded to a report of a domestic on Vinalhaven. Following this response, Jeremy Robishaw, 35, of Vinalhaven, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence terrorizing. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputies Joslyn, Spear and Sgt. Matt Elwell responded to a trespassing complaint in Warren. The male in question was located and issued a summons for same.

    April 24

    Polky conducted a radar detail in Warren. No violations were noted.

    Polky responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.

    Polky conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

    Spear conducted a radar detail in the town of Friendship. No violations were noted.

    Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Thomaston involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

    Polky and Deputy Curt Andrick conducted a countywide OUI detail. No arrests were made for operating under the influence, although four summonses were issued for possession by a minor.

    Following a traffic stop in Rockland, Jack issued a summons for operating a defective motor vehicle.

    April 25

    Deputy Pinkham conducted a radar detail in Friendship. No violations were noted.

    Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

    Pinkham began an investigation of harassment in Friendship. The suspect will be issued a warning for same once located.

    Smith conducted a radar detail in Hope. No violations were noted.

    Following a traffic stop in Union, Spear arrested Robert Shenett, 46, of Washington, on charges of operating after suspension and violating conditions of release. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Polky began an investigation of theft in Warren. This is still an active investigation with one suspect identified.
