Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence, harrassment, outstanding warrant

    The Knox County Sheriff's office received 246 calls for service from March 22-28. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

    March 22

    Deputy Pat Polky responded to assist Waldoboro Police Department units in locating two suspicious males. The males were not located.

    Deputy Paul Pinkham began an investigation of multiple bad checks written at a business in Appleton. Several notices were issued.

    March 23

    Deputy Arthur Smith conducted a radar detail in St. George. No violations were noted.

    Following a traffic stop in South Thomaston, Smith issued summonses for no inspection, no insurance and expired registration.

    Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Cushing involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

    Deputy Kirk Guerrette arrested Aaron Robinson, 35, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Guerrette responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Warren. The vehicle was located and the operator was issued a warning for erratic operation.

    March 24

    Following a traffic stop in St. George, Smith issued a summons for operating after suspension.

    Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Deputy Nathaniel Jack issued summonses for unregistered motor vehicle, expired license and no insurance.

    Jack conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

    Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

    Polky responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

    Deputy Jeremy Joslyn arrested Rebecca Hinsey, 60, of Cushing, on an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Deputy Joslyn issued a summons for expired registration.

    March 25

    Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

    Polky began an investigation of harassment in St. George. The suspect was issued a written notice for same.

    March 26

    Jack arrested Donald Lewis, 52, of Bangor, on an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was escorted into the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Following a traffic stop in Cushing, Pinkham issued a summons for inspection.

    Pinkham responded to a report of a disorderly male in Friendship. The male was later located and issued a notice for trespass.

    Polky began an investigation of harassment in Owls Head. The suspect was issued a notice for same along with trespass.

    Following a traffic stop in Washington, Joslyn issued a summons for no insurance.

    March 27

    Smith conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

    Guerrette conducted a radar detail in Union. One summons for operating without a license was issued.

    Deputy Robert Potter began an investigation of harassment on Vinalhaven. This is still an active investigation.

    Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Smith issued a summons.

    Following a traffic stop in Warren, Jack issued a summons for speeding.

    Following a traffic stop in Washington, Joslyn issued a summons for no insurance.

    March 28

    Joslyn and Sgt. Matt Elwell responded to a report of a domestic in Warren. This case has been referred to Det. Dwight Burtis, Domestic Violence Coordinator, for further investigation.

    Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

    Pinkham arrested David Harjula, 25, of Thomaston, on an outstanding arrest warrant.The subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Guerrette began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The suspect was issued a notice for same.

    Deputy Justin Hills began an investigation of harassment in Appleton. The suspect was issued a warning for same.

    Hills arrested Jessica Weldon, 28, of Windham, on an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
