Knox County Probate to provide U.S. Passport Services

Wed, 02/25/2015 - 1:45pm

ROCKLAND — The Knox County Probate Office, located on the first floor of the Knox County Courthouse, 62 Union St., Rockland will start accepting U.S. Passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State on March 1.

U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports in the Probate Office between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for on holidays when the office is closed.

No appointment is necessary and the office is handicapped accessible. The office does not have the ability to do passport photos so citizens will need to bring a passport-appropriate photo with them for the application.

Passport applicants will need to bring a check with them to be sent with their passport applications to the U.S. Department of State. The office cannot accept credit cards or cash for payment of fees.

For application forms, information on documentation required, fees, and a wealth of other passport and international travel information, visit the official website for passport information: travel.state.gov.
