Kent B. Winchenbach Sr., obituary

FRIENDSHIP —Kent Bradley Winchenbach Sr. unexpectedly passed away Oct.. 22, 2012.

Kent was born in Rockland Feb. 7, 1956.

Over the years he worked at Jameson Plumbing & Heating, National Seafood Products, Stoney Apartments and spent the last 22 years at Bath Iron Works until he retired in 2008. He also spent four years in the U.S. Navy, an accomplishment he was very proud of.

He enjoyed fishing, being on the ocean, watching sports and politics, attending his grandson's baseball games, spending time with friends and family and cooking. He was known for his famous stews and chowders. He especially enjoyed spending holidays with his three young grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father, William C. Winchenbach Sr.; and his mother, Janet Holt Winchenbach. He is survived by his two children, Angie Winchenbach-Lash and her husband, Sean, of Friendship and Kent B. Winchenbach Jr. and his wife, Marianna, of Ontario, Canada; his two brothers, William C. Winchenbach Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Edgewater, Fla., and Scott Winchenbach and his wife, Elizabeth, of Friendship; his grandchildren, Wyatt Bradley Fillmore-Lash, Brooke Grace Fillmore-Lash, and Bailey Cynthia Fillmore-Lash, all of Friendship; and his niece, Michelle Perry and her husband, Mathew, of Rockport; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His smiling face will be dearly missed by many.
