Kathleen Ellen Bennett, 71 passed away during a snowstorm the evening of March 8, 2018.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 31st, Kathy was the youngest daughter of Alton and Hope Munro. She moved to Maine as a child, later choosing to raise her own family on the same land. Kathy attended high school in Camden where she was a baton-twirling majorette, graduating with the class of 1965. Although she loved Elvis - she married her one true love, Harvey Bennett on March 19, 1968.

During their time together they raised two children along with numerous pets who were also a huge part of the family; until 2005 when Harvey's soul was set free. Kathy instilled in her children a love for all animals by taking care of many. From lizards to hamsters, rabbits, dogs and many cats there was always a meowing tail-wagging friend in the house.

A creative and crafty woman, Kathy worked magic with a needle and thread - from painstakingly executed fine needlepoint projects, to quilt making. Over the years she made many of her own dresses, as well as some amazing costumes for her children. Kathy knew her way around a sewing machine; always hemming dresses and pant legs to help her family and friends. Kathleen is survived by her sister Nancy Brewster and her husband Robert of Cocoa, Florida. Her two children Jessica Bennett of Lincolnville, Travis Bennett and his wife Athena of Islesboro, four grandchildren and one grand dog.

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service planned. Come spring there will be a private burial at The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, where she can rest with her husband whom she missed dearly. Please consider making a donation to P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center in Camden or Maine Coast Animal Rescue in Northport in honor of Kathleen's devotion to animals.
