BELFAST - Joseph S. “Dad Joe” Cameron, 88, passed away on Nov. 15, 2016, at Togus. He was born March 22, 1928, in Boston, Mass., to Christopher and Mary (Hurley) Cameron.

He worked at Bailey Factory in Seabrook, N.H., and since 1983 has made his home in Belfast, where he helped out with his family’s business, Cameron Paving. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

Joe cherished his family and enjoyed watching old westerns and taking long rides.

He was predeceased by both parents; a brother, Bill; and a sister, Patience. Joe is survived by his children, James King Sr. and his wife, Peggy, of Wilton, Fred Cameron Sr. and his wife, Madeleine, of Jackson, and Theresa and her husband, David Riley, of Belmont; his grandchildren, Jamie, James Jr., Betty-Jo, Mary Jane, June, Daisy, Stanley, Ruth Jane, Fred Jr., Lisa, Theresa Mary, Thomas, Josephine, David Jr., Matthew and Michael; his great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery.
