ROCKLAND – John H. Willey, 69, passed away, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Sussman House in Rockport.

Born in Rockland, June 6, 1948, he was the son of Walter, Jr. and Louise Gordon Willey. John attended Rockland schools, and later earned his GED.

An accomplished artist he enjoyed painting with watercolors and oils.

Predeceased by his parents, John is survived by his four brothers, twins, James Willey and his wife Wanda, of Union, Walter Willey and his wife, Catherine of Owls Head, Dennis Willey and his wife, Margaret, of Swanville, and David Willey and his wife, Beverly, of Union; three sisters, Mildred Johnson and her husband, Wayne ,of Liberty, Edith Eutsler, of Rockport, and Mary Jacobsen, of Bangor; his long-time companion Claudia Carter, of Rockland; as well as a large extended family.

Claudia Carter, along with the Willey family, extend their deep appreciation and thanks to the many caregivers from Hospice for their kind, compassionate care of John during his brief illness.

John' family has chosen to remember his life privately.
