John Conte to take over Belfast Breeze Inn kitchen

BELFAST — John Conte, self-proclaimed "Fishmonger", is heading to Belfast to cook seafood — not just any seafood, but "select" fresh seafood Italian-style.

Previously known for his unique and personal defining characteristics, such as using Pyrex serving/dinner dishes, zip-lock bag takeout containers, and homey ambience, Conte now joins Belfast Breeze Inn owner, Jane Liedtke, as the "Fishmonger" (AKA, cook/chef).

Conte doesn't like to be called a chef and he doesn't like restaurants, either, according to a press release.

Liedtke bought the former Penobscot Bay Inn in 2015 and spent winter-spring renovating, furnishing, and marketing it as a lodging, events, lounge/restaurant and music venue that opened in June 2015.

Adding Conte to the mix is to help assure that every Thursday thru Saturday night great seafood and other specials will be on the menu from 5-8 p.m. (or until they run out of fresh seafood).

A special Wednesday night Cooking Class Dinner is planned — take friends (6-8 persons) and John and Jane will cook dinner in front of diners in the Inn's expansive kitchen... seafood, Italian, Chinese, German.
