BROOKS — Jerome Ashley Reynolds, 88, passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2016, with his family by his side. Born in Brooks on Oct. 28, 1928, he was the youngest son of the late Alfred and Della Reynolds.

Jerome graduated from Morse Memorial High School, Class of 1949, in the same class as his wife, Barbara. He built his own home and did carpentry for a living. He had several jobs including bus driver, chicken farmer, working on the docks in Winterport, and for many years Jerome worked at Country View Golf Club.

Jerome was a past master of Marsh River Lodge #102, a 25-year member of Harvest Home Grange in Brooks, a former member of the Brooks Booster Club, and the Jolly Neighbors Club at the Varney, where he enjoyed cards and cribbage with friends. He is a member of the First Congregational Church of Brooks.

Jerome was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Barbara (Pollard) Reynolds; and his son, Garry Reynolds I. He is survived by two sons, Jerome Reynolds II of Brooks, and Jeffrey Reynolds and his wife, Terri, of Knox; and his daughter, Carol (Reynolds) Dilkes of Brooks. He leaves grandchildren Jerome Reynolds III, Rebecca (Reynolds) Porter, Michelle (Reynolds) Porter, Aaron Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Bonnie (Dilkes) Johnson, Garry Reynolds II, Jesse Reynolds, Sammie (Reynolds) Fernald, Joshua Reynolds, Jamie Reynolds, Katie Reynolds and Jack Reynolds. He also leaves 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and two remaining brothers, Charles and his wife, Kay, of Belfast, and Everett and his wife, Anita, of Lincolnville.

Some of Jerome's favorite past times were watching the Red Sox, the Patriots, playing cribbage with friends, and visiting and socializing with neighbors, family and close friends. He enjoyed play dates at Tall Pines Day Program for several years and spent many days visiting with his brother, Charlie, who is also a resident at Tall Pines.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m. at First Congregational Church in Brooks, with the Rev. Russ Arnold officiating. A Red Sox party will be held at the Varney following the 4 p.m. service. Family and friends are asked to wear their favorite Red Sox or Patriots attire.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of affection in the form of charitable contributions may be given to the First Congregational Church of Brooks.
