Jeanne Annette Gordley, age 88, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by family in Belfast, October 18, 2017. Born October 3, 1929 to Wilbur and Margret Bader, she lived in Brookville, Ohio with her three sisters. She attended Brookville High School, was May Queen and graduated Class of 1947. She received a scholarship to The Dayton Art Institute, graduating in 1949.

Following graduation, she became an artist and fashion illustrator for the Federated Department stores in Dayton, Ohio.

She married Jerry Gordley of Brookville Ohio and raised three children, Timothy, Scott and Beth. She and Jerry enjoyed international travel while residing in Brookville surrounded by her sisters and family. She moved to Maine in 1998 to be near her children, grandchildren and the ocean.

She began hand painting furniture, selling her designs in local galleries and stores, eventually creating a company called the Paint Fairy.  In later years she enjoyed gardening, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, beautiful Maine scenery and family holidays and gatherings.

We will miss her humor, hugs and aggressive independence, all the while supporting and loving her family unconditionally.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Margret Bader, her sisters Kathryn Cahill and Virginia Hawkins. She is survived by her sister, Margret Gadd, son, Timothy, son and daughter in law Scott and Debi, daughter and son in law Beth and Dr. Terrance Smith, grandchildren Tamara Aquino, Evan Harder,  Ava and Lucien Gordley-Smith, great grand-daughter Sunny Harder and numerous nieces and nephews.
