MONTVILLE — Janice (Raven) Gardner passed away June 27, 2015, in Boston, Mass. She was born in Knox on July 28, 1938, to Lawrence and Lillian (Stevens) Raven.

Janice grew up in Knox and attended Freedom Academy. She made her home in Cape Elizabeth for 20 years, raising her children and then moving back to Montville, where she lived on their farm. She was the caretaker of her family and friends, an avid gardener and enjoyed bird watching, cooking and baking for her family. She was a huge Red Sox Fan and followed them faithfully for years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joel; her children, Steven Gardner of Scarborough, Sabrena Gardner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Belinda Erskine and her husband, James, of Cape Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Jeremy, TJ and Keller Gardner, and Geoffrey, Andy and Grace Erskine; along with her stepmother, Beatrice; her brothers, Melvin, Bobby, Chet, Ike and Roger; her sisters, Barbara and Myrna; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, where services will be held Friday, July 3 at 10 a.m.
