SKOWHEGAN –, 41, though loved by all who knew him, made the irreversible decision to take his own life, Sunday, July 23, 2017.

Jamey had two beautiful daughters whom he loved and was so proud of; Alyssa and Laci were the best things to ever happen to him. He would do anything for his friends. Even though he was an only child, Jamey was like a brother to many. He had an infectious laugh, loved to play pranks on people, or beep the horn to make you jump when you walked by. Music was an important part of his life. He was a great bassist and his time with the band IX theories, made many memories for a lot of people. Dog shows with Crystal were another important part of his life. Who would have thought Jamey would get into showing Pugs.

He liked four letter words as much as any pirate, riding his Harley and watching Supernatural with the girls. He loved swimming; oh wait …. Just kidding. Like a cat, he didn’t like to be wet. He got past that when he started working for the Madison Water District. When he was with Andy, they were like Moose and Squirrel. He was a good son who loved his parents who have always been by his side.

Jamey was quoted as having said of his good friend Roy Nickerson: “No matter what I do or how dumb I get at times, he always has my back! Yep; I’ve done some really stupid shit but he has never judged me. How many people could say the same? I think everyone could take a lesson from Roy Nickerson on how to be a good friend.”

Pre-deceased by his maternal grandfather Robert Young, his paternal grandparents, Fred and Jessie Sanborn, as well as an uncle Scott Young; Jamey is survived by his beloved daughters, Alyssa Jo and Laci Anne Sanborn of Skowhegan; his parents Fred and Valerie Young Sanborn of Waldoboro; his maternal grandmother Lillian Young of Rockland; his girlfriend Crystal Miner of Skowhegan; a cousin whom he considered a sister, Jessica Gilson and her husband Andrew of Skowhegan; the mother of his children, Lisa Brinker Sanborn of Skowhegan; his mother-in-law Rosie Thomas of Anson; three important aunts, Patsy Chapin and her husband George of Waldoboro, Tina Jones and her husband Gary of Cushing, Cheryl Young of Windsor; his cousins, Logan Jones, Kevin Weeks, Jason Young, Cassie Young, Chris Chapin, Samantha Chapin and Holly Boone; his life-long best friend Roy Nickerson of Warren; and “a shit ton” of friends, who are heartbroken and devastated.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2017, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. Burial will follow in Sawyer Cemetery, Stirling Road, Warren. A reception for friends and family will be held at Warren Odd Fellows Hall, 37 Camden Road, Warren, Maine.
