Islesboro police beat: Warren, Thomaston men charged for illegal shellfish harvesting

    ISLESBORO — The Islesboro Police Department reported the following activity for July 6 to July 12, 2015. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt.

    July 6
    • Officer Nickolas Von Husen received a shellfish violation complaint on Ryder Cover Lane. The complaint was turned over to Public Safety Director Fred Porter, who charged Todd Morales, 42, of Warren, and Ryan Schultz, 27, of Thomaston, with harvesting shellfish from an area closed for conservation purposes and with harvesting shellfish without a municipal shellfish license.
    • Von Husen conducted a radar detail on Main Road; no violations.
    • Von Husen conducted business checks on Main, Mill Creek and Ferry roads; all properties were found to be secure.
    • Von Husen conducted a parking enforcement detail on Ferry Road; no violations.

    July 7
    • Von Husen responded to an alarm on Utgoff Lane; the property was found to be secure.
    • Von Husen received a fraud complaint on Mill Creek Road; upon further investigation the complaint was deemed unfounded.
    • Von Husen conducted a parking enforcement detail on Ferry Road; no violations.
    • Von Husen conducted a business check on Ferry Road; the property was found to be secure.

    July 8
    • Porter received a shellfish violation complaint on Ryder Cove Lane; after further investigation the complaint was closed.
    • Porter received a fraud complaint on Pendleton Point Road; the complaint was closed.

    July 9
    • Porter responded to a 911 disconnect on Ryder Cove Lane; the residents were fine.
    • Porter conducted a parking enforcement detail on Ferry Road; no violations.
    • Porter conducted a shellfish detail on Ryder Cove Lane; no diggers noted so no violations.

    July 10
