Islesboro Police beat: Reports of fraud, deer hunting checks

    The Islesboro Police Department reported the following activity for Sept. 14 to Oct. 4, 2015. A summons or arrest does constitute a finding of guilt.

    Sept. 15
    • Public Safety Director Fred Porter received an information complaint on Mill Creek Road that is part of an ongoing investigation.
    • Porter responded to a criminal trespass complaint on Pendleton Point Road; under investigation.
    • Porter received a report of a 911 misdial on Main Road; the caller was fine.

    Sept. 17
    • Porter received a report of fraud on Meadow Pond Road; under investigation.

    Sept. 18
    • Porter received a report of fraud on Main Road; the complaint was deemed unfounded.

    Sept. 19
    • Porter conducted a hunting detail on Main Road; two hunters checked and no violations found.
    • Porter conducted house checks on Pendleton Point Road; all properties were found to be secure.
    • Porter conducted a hunting detail on Main Road; male juvenile was charged with hunting deer over bait and abuse of property through use of an unlabeled blind.
    • Porter received a complaint of suspicious behavior on Main Road; under investigation.

    Sept. 26
    · Officer Nickolas Von Husen conducted a traffic detail on Golf Club Road for a cross-country event.
    · Von Husen received a report of a motor vehicle complaint on Main Road; upon further investigation the complaint was deemed unfounded

    Oct. 1
    · Porter responded to a complaint of criminal trespassing on County Road; upon further investigation, the officer determined there was no trespass.

    Oct. 2
    · Porter conducted a hunting detail on Hermits Point Road and Keller Point Road; no hunters contacted and no violations found.
    · Porter conducted a house check on Wood Lane; property secure.
    · Porter received a report of a wildlife problem on Bluff Road; under investigation.
    · Porter received a report of a car-deer crash. Caitlin Small, 20, of Islesboro, struck a deer while driving north on Main Road, resulting in functional damage to the front fender. The deer ran off.

    Oct 3
    · Porter conducted two hunting details on Main Road and Meadow Pond Road; no violations cited.
    · Porter received a report of a disturbance on Pendleton Point Road; Complaint of shots fired was determined to be fireworks.
    · Porter received a report of a disturbance on East Shore Drive; Complaint of shots fired was deemed unfounded.

    Oct. 4
    · Porter received an alarm complaint on Pendleton Point Road; resolved.
