IF&W Regional Fisheries Biologist, Regional Director Meet and Greet with George’s River Trout Unlimited
Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Fisheries Biologist Jason Seiders will speak at the January 9 George’s River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) meeting in Rockport. Seiders will provide an update on the status of the local freshwater fisheries and will highlight successful educational and outreach project models between IFW, TU chapters and local schools and organizations.
An informal Meet & Greet with TU New England Regional Conservation Director, Jeff Reardon, will precede Seiders’ presentation. The Meet & Greet will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and hear from Reardon on TU conservation initiatives in Maine. Come enjoy an evening with our guests as they share a wealth of information about the health of local fisheries, plans for spring stocking, conservation projects, legislative priorities, youth outreach programs and much more.
Trout Unlimited is a nonprofit with a mission dedicated to conserve, protect and restore North America's cold water fisheries and their watersheds. The GRTU meeting January 9 will be held in the upstairs mezzanine at Flatbread Company in Rockport. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with an informal gathering for those who wish to converse and enjoy a casual meal; Reardon’s Meet & Greet will occur simultaneously for those interested. The featured presentation begins at 7 pm. GRTU conducts a raffle directly following the speaker. Membership is open to all, and the George’s River chapter welcomes individuals from midcoast and down east Maine. Meetings are free and open to the public.
