WASHINGTON — Henry James Wellman, 69, died on October 25, 2017 at his home in Washington. Henry was born June 29, 1948 in Damariscotta to James and Virginia Creamer Wellman. He grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools.

Henry worked as a construction worker for many years. He worked on the bridge that connects Warren and Thomaston on the St. George River. Henry was a easy-going, soft spoken man who enjoyed working in his gardens, and going dancing every Saturday night with his wife Margaret. He also enjoyed recording and watching classic old-time movies. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Wellman; her sons, Randall Scott Lind, William Achorn, Sr. and Reginald Achorn

He is survived by his wife's children, David Achorn, Sr. of Washington, Gerald Achorn of Waldoboro, and Randall Achorn of Waldoboro; Brothers, David Wellman of Waldoboro
Gary Wellman of Waldoboro; Grandchildren, Randall Lind, Jr. of Union Frank Lind of Union, Trisha Lind of Washington, Kelly Jo of Augusta, Malinda Day of Clinton, William Achorn, Jr. of Liberty, Stephanie Pierpont of Rockland, Jonathan Achorn of Rockland, Gerald Achorn, Jr. of Nobleboro, Angela Achorn of Waldoboro, Randall Achorn, Jr. of Waldoboro, Rebecca Achorn of Waldoboro; and close Brother-in-law's: Billy (Maryann) Fowler of Waldoboro and Kenneth Fowler of Waldoboro

Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 2nd at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street in Waldoboro.
The service to celebrate Henry's memory will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3rd at the Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookland Cemetery in Waldoboro.
