Harold W. Chapman, obituary

WALDOBORO — Harold W. "Chappy" Chapman, 87, of Waldoboro passed away at his home on September 27, 2017, with his daughter and grandson by his side. He was born in Waldoboro on May 3, 1930 to Harold "Hake" and Hilda (Vail) Chapman.

Chappy was a well known resident of Waldoboro, spending a lot of his years gossiping with the guys, and aggravating the waitresses at Moody's Diner. Chappy served in the Korean War while in the Air Force.

Chappy married Patricia L. (Delano) Chapman on May 19, 1961. They were able to spend a wonderful 51 years together before Pat passed away September 29, 2012. Chappy and Pat had five beautiful children, resulting in the joys of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Chappy was predeceased by his parents Hilda and Hake, loving wife Pat in 2012, son Richard W. Chapman in 1992, grandson Craig "Buddy" Allan Winchenbach in 2006, 2 sisters and a brother through the years.

Chappy is survived by his daughters, Cindy Chapman, Tammi Winchenbach and her husband Craig, Terry Chapman and her husband Mark, and Tanya Robinson and her husband Gregory "Rusty". Grandchildren Christie, Tiffany, Amber, Nicole, Abbie, Dyani, Kayla, Rhiannon, Morgan, Daniel, Colby, Melanie, Cameron and sister Carol Hallowell of Waldoboro. Many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Richard and Chrissy Glidden of Waldoboro, and Paulette Strout.

At Chappy's request there will be no funeral services, but family and friends are welcome to join the immediate family on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Brookland Cemetery in Waldoboro where Chappy will be laid to rest with his wife Pat and son Richard.
