Brock has been found, according to Waldo County Communications Center in Belfast. Word came late this afternoon. The story will be updated when more details become available.

NORTHPORT — The search continues Saturday afternoon for Brock, a 7-month-old black and tan German shepherd dog that went missing following a car accident Saturday morning in Northport.

According to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, deputy Merl Reed responded to a car accident on Pound Hill Road and learned that the operator of the vehicle had Brock with them at the time of the accident.

Unfortunately, following the crash, Brock ran from the scene into the woods nearby and has not been seen since.

The owner claims that Brock is friendly and is not aggressive.

Meanwhile, light snow continues to fall Saturday afternoon and temperatures are around 14 degrees Fahrenheit. A winter storm warning remains in effect until midnight, and a wind chill advisory is in effect from midnight Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday. Overnight, the wind chill will be as low as minus 32, due to temperatures falling to 7 below zero and 3 above. Winds will also kick up, northwest at 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.

Anyone in the Northport area that sees Brock is encouraged to call the Sheriff's Office at 338-2040, or your local Animal Control Officer.
