George Roland Chapman, obituary

WALDOBORO — George Roland Chapman, 70, passed away on April 12, 2018 at his home in Waldoboro with his family by his side.  George was born on April 26, 1947 in Gardiner to Robert Chapman and Josephine (Brackett) Chapman.  He grew up in Gardiner and attended local schools.  He joined the U.S. Army in 1965.  He was an Expert (M-14) Rifleman and was given a letter of appreciation.  After he was discharged from the Army in 1972 George worked for Canon Sline painter’s union and was a clam digger. 

He loved spending time with his family and friends and his special dog Chloe, and mowing lawns in the neighborhood.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his first wife Jean Chapman and his second wife Dana Chapman, and his brother Robert Chapman, Jr.

George is survived by his son George Chapman, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Waldoboro, his daughter Tina Chapman of Waldoboro, his step-son Raymond Walls of Friendship, his granddaughter Breckyn Turner and husband Brad of Waldoboro, granddaughter Miranda-Lee Stockbridge and husband Shane of Warren, grandson Shane Woods of Waldoboro, grandson David Walls and wife Ashley of Rockland, 5 great granddaughters, Emma-Jean, Malerie-Ann, Keyara, Aleazia, Reirni, 2 great grandsons Ethan and Little George Remillard and grandchildren Joe, Seth, Josiha, Veronica Remmillard and brother Dean Chapman of Lewiston.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Word of Life Church, 41 Old Route One, Waldoboro, Pastor Tom Rawley officiating.
