THOMASTON — George A Prentiss Jr., 53, lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 26, 2017, with his family at his side, at the Sussman House in Rockport.

He was born Jan. 30, 1963, to George A. and Constance A. Beal Prentiss. He was a 1982 graduate of Georges Valley High School and worked many different jobs in the area.

George was predeceased by both of his parents; and a brother, Deland Beal. He is survived by his brother, Richard Prentiss and his wife, Nicole; a sister, Pamela Prentiss and her husband, Gary Seekins; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
