Garfield ‘Skip’ Leroy Belyea, Jr.

Garfield "Skip" Leroy Belyea, Jr., 69, of Warren, died at the Sussman House on June 23, 2017 due to complications from renal failure.

Skip was born on August 26, 1947 to his parents Garfield and Pheneta Belyea.  He graduated from Rockland District High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant, later retiring with a full veterans disability pension. He married Maria Illena Fowles on October 29, 1967 and they enjoyed 46 happy years together.    

Skip was well known for his warmth, humor, kind spirit and generosity.  He enjoyed his family, friends, sports, especially the Red Sox and the New England Patriots, music, especially The Eagles and was well known for his penchant for Diet Pepsi, "with lots of ice."

Skip is survived by his loving daughters Mitzi Brown and Renee Belyea and her fiancé, David Neubig; his loving mother, Pheneta Belyea; his brothers Steven and William Belyea and their wives; children and grandchildren, as well as his sisters Debbie Baker and Carol Bisset and their husbands, children and grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife Maria and father Garfield.

A private celebration of his life will be held by his family July 2, 2017. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street NW, Washington D.C.,  20006.
