Friday Night at the Thomaston Academy: ‘The Manchurian Candidate’

The Friends of the Thomaston Public Library presents Friday Night Film Series at the Thomaston Academy. Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Friday, May 26, 6:30 p.m. — The Manchurian Candidate (1962 PG-13 129 minutes)

Shocking and mesmerizing, The Manchurian Candidate will leave you breathless. Featuring an all-star cast, including Angela Lansbury in an Oscar nominated performance, this film may be the most sophisticated political satire ever made. Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey) is a Korean War hero has been brainwashed by the communist Chinese. With one phone call, they can transform Shaw into a deadly assassin -- unless fellow veteran Bennett Marco (Frank Sinatra) can stop them first. Also starring Janet Leigh.

The Thomaston Academy Building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance and light refreshments will be served. For more information call the library at 354-2453.
