Frets Halligan, Vic Tredwell to perform
Musical entertainment will be provided by Frets Halligan and Vic Tredwell, who will combine the ukulele and bass with some vocals thrown in the mix.
Frets has been a musician since his youth and keeps opening new doors to keep playing and teaching. He loves the ukulele and does all he can to get others playing it. He's known for his laid-back, spontaneous style, which invites others to join in. He always has a few loaner ukes for people to try and get their feet wet.
Vic is your basic aging hippie, with many previous 'incarnations.' He went to high school in Orono and was the Maine mile champion two years running. He was a quartermaster in the Navy, a wanna-be writer in college, then a fortuneteller, a computer wizard, a furniture mover and a farmhand. Along the way he played bass in many styles from blues and rock to western swing to the Belfast Bay Fiddlers.
The Market's final Main Street Festival for 2012 will take place on upper Main Street between Church & High streets the first Friday in October, which is October 5. For a list of this season's 26 vendors, visit belfastfarmersmarket.org.
