ROCKLAND — Fred A. Verrill, 89, passed away March 13, 2017, at home with his loving wife of 63 years, Katherine, by his side. Fred was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Westbrook.

Fred was a teacher with School Administrative District 5 for 33 years. After retiring, he worked for the Knox County Credit Union, as well as baby-sitting for family friends. He was also an active member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

Fred is survived by his wife, Kathrine "Katie"; his daughter, Teresa Verrill; his son, Philip Verrill and his wife, Margaret; his grandson, Ryan Verrill and his wife, Torry, and their four children; his grandson, Mike Verrill and his significant other, Nicole Clark; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 150 Broadway in Rockland. The Rev. Robert Vaillancourt will officiate.
