ROCKLAND – First National Bank recently presented the Center for Maine Contemporary Art with $5,000 for the Bank's sponsorship of the Biennial Exhibition.

"The art scene in Rockland has come alive over the past decade and we are happy to support CMCA and their Biennial Exhibition," said Tony C. McKim, President and CEO of First National Bank, in a news release.

The Biennial is an open juried competition for artists at all stages of their career who have a strong connection to the State of Maine. The concept of an open juried competition at CMCA dates back to 1978, when then director Ben Goldsmith presented the first Annual Juried Exhibition. Until 1998, it was the only continuing statewide juried exhibition.
