The semi-annual Cash for Clothes Sale will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 through Monday, Oct. 22, at the American Legion Hall on Pearl Street in Camden. Dates and times for the sale are Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 21, 12 to 5 p.m.; and Monday, Oct. 22, from 7 to 11 a.m.
Preregistration events for Cash for Clothes are scheduled for the two weekends prior to the sale. Each event will be held at at Coastal Opportunities, located at 35 Limerock Street in Camden. Those interested in selling clothing at the sale must pre-register during one of the following scheduled dates and times: Oct. 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., or October 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Clothing at Cash for Clothes is sold on a 50/50 basis, with half of the profit going to the seller and half to Coastal Opportunities. Those interested in donating the proceeds from the sale of their clothing do not need to pre-register, and can simply take their clothing to Coastal Opportunities prior to the sale where volunteers will tag and price the clothing. All others will register, receive identification tags, lists for clothing, and instruction sheets at pre-registration. Sellers are asked not to bring any clothing to pre-registration unless they are donating the clothes to the workshop. When selecting clothing to sell, Cash for Clothes asks that sellers avoid any items that are torn, stained, or out of season. Only good quality Fall and Winter clothing will be accepted for this sale; however, straight donations of clothing items from any season are accepted at Coastal Opportunities throughout the year.
Organizers are also looking for volunteers to work on various aspects of the sale. Times are available both prior to and during the sale, and volunteers who work four or more hours qualify to attend the Cash for Clothes Pre-Sale. For information about volunteering, contact Nancy Wolfertz at 594-5429.
